so I finally broke out my fatkini for the first time this summer and I have to say the world didn’t end, in fact I had the greatest day with all my best friends so I’d like to invite all of the fat humans in the world to unite and be half naked in public, because it sure is liberation’.
I’ve spent the last two years telling myself that I’m just as beautiful as anyone else, and I’ve ignored people calling me a fat ass and (mockingly) big booty Judy.
The other day, somebody told me if they were to rate me 0-10, 10 being the best, 0 being worst. This somebody is a high school drop out with no driver’s license because he got it taken away for driving under the influence, plus underage drinking. He also preaches about how you don’t need drugs or alcohol to have fun, then the next day he posts photos of him absolutely shitfaced drunk, and when confronted his response is, “YOLO!”
Being rated a ZERO really got to me. It hurt, and I cried. But I got over it, and I know I’m beautiful, even if I’m not size 2.

“Body acceptance means, as much as possible, approving of and loving your body, despite its “imperfections”, real or perceived. That means accepting that your body is fatter than some others, or thinner than some others, that your eyes are a little crooked, that you have a disability that makes walking difficult, that you have health concerns that you have to deal with — but that all of that doesn’t mean that you need to be ashamed of your body or try to change it. Body acceptance allows for the fact that there is a diversity of bodies in the world, and that there’s no wrong way to have one.”
― Golda Poretsky
